Terms and Conditions of Membership
Kia ora and welcome to the Cust Toy Library. Our library thrives on volunteer work and dedicated members like you, we greatly appreciate you joining us! Please see below our rules of borrowing and our membership agreement.
Membership Cost: An annual membership fee of $40 is to be paid upon joining the Toy Library. Membership payment must be made online and received prior to the hire of any toys. Please state MEMBERSHIP, your surname and membership number (if known) when paying online.

We also offer a grandparent and Community Services card holder membership (on presentation of card) at the reduced rate of $20 per year.
Parent Help: A Parent Help Roster is operated on a Saturday to assist the Coordinator. All members will be rostered on one or two Saturdays per year. When your name appears on the next roster, it will be emailed out to you in advance. If you cannot do your duty on the day you are rostered, you can request a swap to another date or send along a family member / friend.
If a member misses their duty, they may be given an extra duty for the following roster.
Borrowing Toys:
Borrowing fees vary according to the value of the item. All borrowing fees are spent on replacement or purchasing Toy Library stock: No spot - Free, Green spot - $1, Red spot - $2
Borrowing time is 2 weeks. You can borrow up to 20 items at a time.
You can renew toys online if no other members have already reserved that toy. Toys can only be renewed once (rented for a maximum of 4 weeks).
Toys overdue by two weeks will incur a late fee of $1 per week.
Please clean and dry toys before you return them.
Damage or loss of any toy borrowed from the library, excluding fair wear and tear, is the responsibility of the borrower. Should parts be lost resulting in the toy no longer being useable, then replacement will be required.
We endeavour to keep an accurate list of the contents on the toy label. Please inform the Coordinator of any changes on return of the toy.
Please do not exchange toys with friends or neighbours even if they belong to the Toy Library, as paperwork becomes confusing.
Batteries are the responsibility of the borrower.
Care of Toys:
Most toys are issued in sealable plastic bags, Zippit bags or plastic containers. Please remove plastic bags and store away from children until toys are to be returned.
We recommend that you wash all toys that are likely to be put in a child’s mouth BEFORE USE and BEFORE RETURNING. Your help keeping toys clean is appreciated as the Coordinators don’t have time to clean them before they are taken out again.
Playtime – for your own peace of mind, ensure that your children are careful with toys. Some toys will need parental supervision, and some are suited for a particular age/stage of development.
We suggest that children tidy their toy library items after play and store them away from their own toys.
The Toy Library Committee reserves the right to amend any of these rules without prior notice and to cancel any membership in the event of violation of these rules being regularly abused.

We welcome any suggestions for the purchase of new toys and improvements to our facilities and service. Please contact any of the committee members if you have any problems or suggestions. We also have a suggestions box in the Library.
The Cust Toy Library opens on Saturdays from 10.00am to 11:30 am. We close on Public Holidays and for 6 weeks over the Christmas Holidays. Keep up to date and follow us on Facebook – Cust Toy Library.
Agreement:
Liability: I accept that I cannot hold the Cust Toy Library responsible for any injury or damage as a result of using the toys. Age ranges provided on toys are based on manufacturers information and are a guide only.
I undertake to replace or pay for any damage or loss of any toy borrowed from the library, excluding fair wear and tear. Should parts be lost resulting in the toy no longer being usable, then replacement will be required.
I agree to abide by the rules of borrowing as stipulation above.
